A few words About Me
I studied Molecular and Cellular Biology. I began my academic journey at the University of Glasgow, where I had the opportunity to combine my undergraduate degree with a Master’s through a program called MSci with Work Placement. After completing my Undergraduate Studies, I started my PhD at the University of Edinburgh, focusing on the metabolic differences between leukemic and healthy cells.
Upon completing my PhD, I moved to Los Angeles and worked at City of Hope Hospital, where I investigated the genetic and molecular differences across various stages of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. I later returned to the United Kingdom and worked at UCL, where my research centered on immunological cell therapies against leukemia.
Recently, I decided to transition into the pharmaceutical industry, and I now work at a biotechnology company that focuses on immunological cell therapies targeting metastatic melanoma and metastatic lung cancer.
Why I Chose My Career
From a young age, I had a deep love for science—especially Biology—so choosing to focus my studies in this field was an easy decision.
Why I Became a Volunteer at R.E.A.L Science
Eleni Sinopoulou is a close friend of mine, and I admire her immensely both as a scientist and as a person. It is a pleasure for me to contribute in any way I can to this platform, so that together we can help younger generations find their path and achieve their goals.
