About Me

Hello! My name is Stefanos, and I work as an Education & Academic Programs Manager at SAS, a private multinational company operating in the field of Business Analytics.

My academic journey began as a Mathematics student, while at the same time I was a competitive water polo athlete — a dual path that extended my graduation time but offered me many wonderful experiences and a wide range of perspectives.

At 27, I hung up my water polo cap, took my degree in hand, and moved to North Carolina in the United States to pursue Doctoral Studies in Statistics and Operations Research. Five years later, after significant sacrifices, I completed my PhD and immediately joined SAS headquarters — first as a Statistical Researcher and Programmer, and later as an Analytics Consultant. I remained in that role until the summer of 2021, when I decided to return to Greece.

Why I Became a Volunteer at R.E.A.L Science

R.E.A.L Science fills an important gap in our educational system by opening channels of communication between students and the job market. I hope to contribute to this initiative by sharing my experiences with the student community.
