A few words About Me

After graduating from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, I completed my Master’s degree in Exercise, Ergometry & Rehabilitation at the Medical School and the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science of the University of Thessaly. I am currently preparing to begin my PhD studies.

As a resident in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, I work with patients who have lost part of their functional capacity due to conditions affecting the nervous, musculoskeletal, or cardiorespiratory systems. Within the framework of close interdisciplinary collaboration, our rehabilitation team focuses on preventing and managing complications and achieving the best possible functional ability and quality of life for patients, both in acute and chronic stages of disease.

Why I Chose My Career

I have always sought explanations for natural phenomena and human behavior, with a particular interest in biology, while also having a deep love for movement and human performance. Medicine became the “umbrella” choice that allowed me to discover my passion for neuroscience and later for rehabilitation—a field that combines the design and execution of movement and behavior, aiming to optimize them through neuroplasticity.

During my Postgraduate Studies, I discovered the magic of clinical and laboratory research, and since then I have been trying to combine it with clinical medicine in the best possible way.

Why I Became a Volunteer at R.E.A.L Science

Career choice has always been a complex and evolving process for me. I want to help young people become excited about the world of science and develop a scientific way of thinking. Through my experiences, I hope to demystify the idea of early specialization and highlight the richness of interdisciplinary education and the flexibility that a broad scientific background can offer.
