A few words About Me

I am a Biologist specializing in Biomolecular Sciences and Biotechnology. I graduated from the Department of Biological Applications and Technologies at the University of Ioannina, where I also completed my Master’s degree. My desire to broaden my scientific horizons led me to complete two Erasmus+ traineeships—one at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in Spain and another at University College Cork in Ireland.

So far, my research interests include Cellular, Molecular, and Reproductive Biology, with a focus on female fertility. I have also worked in the field of Immunology during pregnancy. I am currently pursuing my PhD at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, studying cellular aging in female reproduction and strategies for preserving female fertility.

Why I Chose My Career

From a young age, problem‑solving and “exploration” fascinated me. Biology was the science that truly captivated me because it combines my need for discovery with my desire to contribute to society. The constant evolution of knowledge, the excitement of new findings, and the direct impact of science on improving human life were some of the reasons that drew me to this field.

Every experiment—successful or not—can bring us one step closer to addressing major challenges in health and the environment. What could be more exciting?

Why I Became a Volunteer at R.E.A.L Science

I believe that science communication and bridging the gap between school and university are essential steps for promoting the sciences in our country. Additionally, during the period when I was searching for my next professional step, I realized how valuable the exchange of information and experiences with others can be.
