A few words About Me
I was born and raised in Athens. From a young age, I had a strong love for mathematics and technology. I studied Computer Engineering and Informatics at the University of Patras, where I discovered my interest in applied algorithms and models in the field of Health.
For my diploma thesis, I chose to work in Bioinformatics, which gave me the opportunity to move to Germany and pursue a PhD at the University of Dresden. There, in collaboration with a bioinformatics company, I developed a system that correlates drugs and proteins using clinical data and online libraries.
My exposure to industry convinced me that what excites me most is seeing my work evolve into a real product that users can interact with and benefit from. My move to the United States coincided with the rapid rise of data‑science‑driven products, and the abundance of opportunities for growth led me to continue my career outside academia.
Why I Chose My Career
The constant challenges, lifelong learning, collaboration with diverse teams involved in product development, and the opportunities for advancement.
Why I Became a Volunteer at R.E.A.L Science
I want to support young scientists—especially women—by helping them gain access to information, resources, and inspiration. My goal is to encourage them to pursue data science despite the challenges and to empower them to follow a path that truly excites them.
