A few words About Me
I was born in Nikaia, Piraeus, and grew up in Nea Filadelfeia, Athens. I graduated from the School of Sciences, Department of Geology, at the University of Thessaloniki, and in 1985 I was appointed as a science teacher in secondary education.
From 2000 to 2015, I was seconded to the Environmental Education Center of Stylida, where I served as a member of the pedagogical team, deputy head, and later head of the center. During this time, I coordinated national thematic networks such as “Geomythological–Geoenvironmental Trails” and “Climate Change and Extreme Weather Events”.
In 2015, I was seconded to the Ministry of Education in the Department of Environmental Education, where I remained until my retirement in December 2017.
I have participated in numerous training programs in Greece and across Europe on science education, teaching strategies for students with learning difficulties, environmental awareness, migration and racism, environmental management, sustainability, and new technologies.
My work includes organizing seminars and conferences, coordinating European programs, presenting at national and international meetings, producing educational material, and publishing articles. I have also served on coordinating committees for local, regional, and national environmental education networks.
