About Me
My name is Maria Kyritsi, and I am a Biologist, graduate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. I am completing my Postgraduate Studies at the Department of Biology of A.U.Th., specializing in biotechnology and the molecular and microbiological control of food. Recently, I have been trying to engage more actively in science communication through various volunteer initiatives.
Why I Chose My Career
My admiration for the science of Biology began with my very first Biology classes at school and has only grown stronger over time, along with my enthusiasm for research. I continue to choose Biology because I enjoy exploring what we still do not understand or have yet to discover—phenomena that play a crucial role in life on our planet.
Why I Became a Volunteer at R.E.A.L Science
I find it incredibly meaningful to communicate scientific knowledge to the general public, especially to children. Besides, I really enjoy talking about Biology — a lot!
