A few words About Me

Hello! I’m Manthia, and I study Medicine at the University of Patras. My main field of interest is Neuroscience, as my long‑term goal is to become a neurosurgeon. I have always been fascinated by the human brain—its complexity and its unexplored potential. Alongside my studies, I participate in volunteer projects such as the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Patras and the events organized by Unique Minds. One of my greatest passions is classical music, which I study in my free time. I also take classical piano lessons at the Municipal Conservatory of Patras.

Why I Chose My Career

From a very young age, I knew I wanted to become a doctor. The profound impact of contributing to others is what guided my decision. Medicine is a field full of possibilities—not only through clinical practice but also through research and the creation of new knowledge that benefits humanity.

Why I Became a Volunteer at R.E.A.L Science

I believe R.E.A.L Science is a wonderful initiative that helps strengthen both secondary and higher education from the ground up. Career guidance is something largely missing from the Greek educational system, leaving students to discover their path by trying different fields and often losing valuable time on subjects that may not suit them. Understanding the opportunities each academic field or profession offers is essential for making informed decisions about one’s future.
