About Me

I studied at the University of Thessaly. My undergraduate degree is in Plant and Animal Production within the Department of Agriculture, with a specialization in Plant Science, and my Master’s degree focuses on Plant Breeding.

After graduating, I worked for the Region of Thessaly on the Nitrate Pollution and Organic Farming programs, which aim to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and address the ongoing degradation of the groundwater table. I then worked at ELGA, the national agricultural insurance organization, where I assessed crop damage caused by natural phenomena such as hail, rain, and strong winds, in order to determine compensation for farmers.

In recent years, I decided to shift toward education for both minors and adults, hoping to help young people discover and appreciate the primary sector. I have worked at the Averof Agricultural School of Larissa — an institution with over 100 years of history — as well as in vocational high schools (EPAL), public and private IEK, KEK training centers, and in ELGO‑Dimitra seminars for new farmers. For me, knowledge is an exciting journey.

Why I Chose My Career

“From seed to fruit” — this simple phrase captures the essence of Agriculture. It is the entire life cycle of a plant, full of countless “whys” and “hows.” Agricultural science seeks to answer these questions, opening up new horizons of knowledge.

Even though I grew up in the Thessalian plain, I didn’t know much about Agriculture. But one month into my studies was enough for me to become fascinated by the journey from seed to harvest.

Why I Became a Volunteer at R.E.A.L Science

As a student, you search for answers and guidance about your future. As a mother of two teenagers, I hope to contribute to the decision‑making process of other young people and support them as they explore their options.
