About Me

My name is Evi Kanouta, and I graduated from the School of Pharmacy at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. I also hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Pharmacology from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland.

For the past ten years, I have been living abroad and working for one of the largest pharmaceutical companies worldwide, in the department responsible for preparing regulatory submissions for clinical trial approvals and, later on, for marketing authorization applications to the European Medicines Agency.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling, visiting museums, and reading. Over the past year, I have also begun a Master’s degree in Organizational Psychology and Human Resources Management/Coaching.

Why I Chose My Career

To be completely honest, the main reason I initially chose my studies was the possibility of working in my family’s pharmacy. Over time, however, I realized that what truly motivates me is contributing to society. I decided I wanted to work in an environment where I could have the greatest possible impact on public health.

Choosing a large pharmaceutical company brought me directly to the heart of research and development of innovative medicines. That path led me to my current career — which I still consider a work in progress.

I deeply believe that the academic and professional choices we make at such a young age do not have to define our entire lives. Opportunities are endless, as long as we understand ourselves — our needs and desires at each stage of life — trust our judgment, and make choices that reflect who we are becoming.

Why I Became a Volunteer at R.E.A.L Science

Because I personally lacked proper career guidance when I had to choose my field of study, I want to contribute in a way that ensures middle‑ and high‑school students receive the support and information they need to make informed decisions about their future.
